The Cavs are still capable of the Playoffs, but it might not be the best option for them right now

Before the All-Star break, the Cavs had won four out of five of their last games. This gave them big hope that the playoffs were still in the question. Two of those wins were against playoff opponents Philadelphia and Atlanta. But now, after two back-to-back blowouts the Cavs vision of the playoffs seems to get blurrier and blurrier.
With the winning streak that the Cavs were on, they were building momentum. They also knew that two key starters were on their way of coming back, Kevin Love and Larry Nance Jr. Love was out due to a calf strain and Nance Jr. was out with a fractured hand.
After the Cavs lost 100-82 against the Hawks on Sunday night, they need to find a way to make up for this. The Hawks are one of the Cavs' playoff opponents. The Cavs are 14-24 on the season, only 4.5 games behind the Hawks. The Hawks are currently ranked eighth and that is all thanks to a five-game winning streak, new coaching, and more players coming back from injuries.
Even though the Cavs have gotten through their hardest schedule and still have a shot at the playoffs, their second half schedule is already coming knocking at them. They're going to need to make this quick switch and get back-to-back wins in rather than back-to-back losses.
There is also something else to look at for the Cavs. Yes, a playoff is what we all want because we want that shot at another Championship. But is that what we can really see happening? Maybe a playoff isn't what is best for the Cavs right now. The roster and chemistry is still iffy for the Cavs and they need to add more superstars. Not making the playoffs gives us a higher ranking at the draft. This would allow us to get a young star to join the team and switch things up next season with our already young team.
